The brushes are fully recyclable in your municipal scrap wood recycling program, or compostable with the exception of some small metal pieces which can be separated and recycled!

SISAL: An extremely sustainable, naturally antibacterial and eco friendly plant-based resource that is strong, durable, water-resistant, long-lasting and suitable for allergy sufferers.
Allow brushes to air dry between uses. Store with bristles down and avoid letting the bamboo sit in water.

For a deep clean, soak the bristles of the brush and where they attach into the bamboo in white vinegar for 30 minutes or so (optional: add a little soap to the vinegar). Rinse with hot water, shake off excess water and air dry with the bristle end down. Signs of age are natural.

At the end of life, these brushes are fully recyclable in your municipal scrap wood recycling program (don't worry about the metal) or compostable. Remove and recycle the small metal pieces before composting.
